Sustainability at Saja

In a throwaway society where everything is meant to be replaced every so often, we believe in the value of buying less, choosing better, and making things last. We reject transient consumerism and believe that at this day and age, sustainability should be an inherent quality of every product.

Saja's stance on sustainability are as follows:

  1. Creating well-made pieces that stands the test of time, both in physical durability and in the way it transcends trends

  2. Utilizing lower impact materials whenever we can: leather from byproduct of the meat industry, leather that is tanned without harsh chemicals, natural rubber and latex

  3. Every new collection is meant to complement and not replace the prior

  4. Creating pieces that are both relevant and timeless, with the goal of prolonging the life of the item in your closet as long as possible

  5. We encourage you only to buy the things you truly love, can see yourself wearing for years to come, and support your idea of ideal self

  6. When considering the price for an item, think in terms of the value per wear that you get out of it. For example, an item that you wear 3 times a week and last for 5 years will result in 780 wear throughout its lifetime. Divide the price with the number of wear and you will get price per wear. An item that is worn often and last a long time carry much more value than cheaper items that does not last and will end up in a landfill.

  7. Our packaging are made from recycled and recyclable materials, our boxes, dust bags and shoe mitts are meant to be reused, we are single-use plastic free and aim to be 100% plastic free in the next 2 years.

  8. We choose natural materials first, and always whenever possible because we also think about the impact it will have after its lifetime

  9. We offer a lifetime of repairs and services because we believe in taking care of things and making them last
